POLISHING LAPS

The Rock Peddler offers a variety of laps designed to be charged by the craftsman with his or her personal preference of diamond abrasive or other conventional polishing agents.

CORIAN LAP An Excellent lap for polishing your hardest stones.................8"..........................$60.00

CERAMIC LAP. Recommended for hard stones such as corundum, CZ, and spinel. Produces extremely flat facets with a brilliant surface finish. Use with 50,000 or 100,000 diamond spray.

Ceramic Lap

PHENOLIC LAP. An inexpensive general purpose polishing lap used with either diamonds or oxides.

ACRYLIC LAP. An inexpensive lap , use as a backing lap for Ultralaps or score for use with oxide polishes. Lap is 1/4" thick. .

ULTRALAPS. Ultralap is a thin polyester plastic sheet precoated with polish. Ultralap will often solve scratching problems. It is used on a master lap and held to it by a thin film of water. (Spectra is a high purity optical cerium). Each package contains 5 laps. The Variety packs contain one of each oxide type.

Ultralaps - Convenient and easy to use

RAYTECH FAST LAP. Fine metal particles embedded in a tough resin binder provide the diamond holding properties of metal with the grooving resistance of a reinforced resin structure. Most effective when used with spray diamond, in combination with Thinner/Lubricant.

CRYSTALITE LAST LAP. Made of pelletized metal bonded into an epoxy matrix. Resists grooving and gouging. Use with diamond slurry or compound to polish quartz, corundum, beryl, topaz, and other popular faceting materials. Comes with 1 ct. of 50,000 slurry.
